According to a research done by a non-governmental organization, out of one lakh students 77% just stay at their homes and do not leave for even a single time. What do they even do at their home? This research has been done for the students of class 10 and 12 and their answer for such a result was 'studies'. Some of them replied they studied for 8-10 hours without any break. Everything they require is provided to them. The only time they had to leave their study table was when they had to go to bathroom.
But why do the parents give such facilities to their children. One of the students of class ten was made deprive of her cell phone, television and even C.D. player which were there on her room. Everything she needed was taken away so that her study can go smoothly without any obstacles. Her parents say, concentration is needed to study and any movement causes disturbance in her studies.
Surrounded by 20 books and 25-30 exercise books, a student is not allowed to chat with her friends and even look out of the window. She thinks that her parents has lots of expectations towards her but what she and her parents don’t know is that, this kind of routine is dangerous. Everyone dislikes being sick and having to take bed rest when exams are ahead.
According to the doctors, students fall sick during exam time. Eye irritation and burn, back pain, neck or arm pain, etc are the common problems students suffer. This is caused by studying in same posture for a long time. Not only this, some students even study on wrong posture. Sitting on same position is harmful for the body. We have such body form that we cannot stay in same position for more than 30 minutes, but the students concentrated in their studies are unaware of the matter. Because of this, students become host of serious cervical pain, waist pain, neck pain, depression, etc.
In the present context, exam preparation is not possible without studying for hours the course books. Studying for hours is good but keeping these necessary things in mind is also necessary:
12 Study in right position. According to specialist, if the things are done in right posture, it not only makes human structure right but also keeps away diseases. Whatever position we sit, the body parts should not be pressurized, because while studying our hands only moves and body rests. This results in waist, neck and back pain.
- Do not study on lying on bed. This posture causes eye irritation and causes head ache, neck and back pain. It also affects human structure.
- Try studying in different position. Chose which position is comfortable and study in that position. Keep changing position frequently in time and again while studying.
- Study using a table and chair. While studying do not bend your head down unnecessarily which will causes waist, neck pain etc. whatever may be the position, waist should be straight.
- Legs should be free and straight. Don’t lay our leg one on top of other. If that is a habit then try changing it frequently, which will block the blood circulation and tires you more.
- If you have a problem of back and neck pain, try using slope surface desk so that you don’t have to bend more.
- Eyes work more on studying so try blinking more. Less blinking of eyes causes eye dryness which leads to eye irritation and burn. Try closing your eyes if there is eye tiredness. Try controlling fats on your food for preventing from eye irritation.
- Along with study desk, use comfortable chair which height can be changed according to the need.
- The structure of the chair should be comforting the lower back.
- Try buying a comfortable chair where the legs can be spread straight and bend according to one's desire.
- Try sitting in relax way. Don’t give pain on legs, neck and back unnecessarily.
- Don’t sit for a long time and try walking. This will unblock the blood circulation.
- Go to bathroom when u need and don’t control it.
- Don’t eat on study table and eat with parents and guardians. Eat light diet with fewer calories and more vitamins and minerals.
- Try refreshing your mind by taking breaks and talking with parents and joking with them. You will be relief from exam phobia. Also good diet helps in gaining in energy.
